Organ Recital "in progress" - Attende, Domine by Jeanne Demessieux

Andrew Adair is recording an Organ Recital one piece at a time, which we are combining with images to make a series of musical meditations for you to enjoy.

Andrew has a marvellous home organ that has been set to recreate the sound of the great organ in Salisbury Cathedral, and which allows him to record directly to a computer, and he is offering up these musical meditations as part of our efforts to find ways to keep you connected in this very strange and difficult time.

Today, for his first offering, we present: https://youtu.be/IGq6lmY6tbk

Attende, Domine by Jeanne Demessieux, played by Andrew Adair on the Salisbury Cathedral Hauptwerk sample set by Milan Digital Audio.

Jeanne Marie-Madeleine Demessieux (1921-1968) studied the organ privately and at the Paris Conservatoire with Marcel Dupré. Demessieux became an international concert organist, playing over 2,500 works from memory. This work is a setting of the Gregorian chant Lent Prose.
