Sock Drive and Boot Drive

The SMM Children & Youth have collected WARM WOOL SOCKS each December in past years. Our goal is to collect at least 100 pairs which will then be wrapped and distributed at the Community Dinner on December 30, 2022. This gift of warm socks provided by our parish is so appreciated by those attending the dinner.

There is a decorated box at the back of the church where contributions may be dropped off throughout Advent.

Wool socks and warm boots needed!

Hi Everyone, Here is another important message from the Children & Youth Program.

Sock Drive

Anyone else starting to feel the busyness of the season picking up?  Well, we have another very important reminder for you.  Perhaps the most important...it's time for our annual SOCK DRIVE!

Winter Boots

We will also be collecting winter boots. If you have warm winter boots in good, used condition, or feel like picking up a pair of new ones, there are people in marginal circumstances desperately in need of them. There is a particular need for men's boots, which are always in short supply. You can often buy decent boots for not much money at stores like Winners, or Value Village, and a pair of warm boots can make a real difference to someone who spends the day on the street in winter.

Thank you for your support.

Praying with Anglican Prayer Beads - Sat. December 3

Please join us for Mass @ 10am Followed by breakfast and a demonstration of how to pray using Anglican prayer beads led by the Rev. Jake Cunliffe.

Jake is the Assistant Curate at the Church of St Mary Magdalene. Ordained a deacon in June, he completed his theological studies at Yale Divinity School earlier this year. He is interested in global church partnerships, Christian education, and the role of worship informing communities that live ethically, among other things. Join us as Jake explains how Anglican prayer beads, also known as the Anglican rosary, have assisted his spiritual life, and pray with us as we practise using the beads together.
