Advent Wreath Making: Saturday Nov. 26th from 1:00 - 3:00 pm

The Advent wreath making afternoon has become a beloved SMM yearly tradition to help prepare and welcome the coming of Christ. Join us and make your own Advent wreath to take home with fresh greenery, berries, ribbons and Advent candles. This is an all-ages event. Both families and individuals are welcome.

Cost: $10 if you have your own wreath form, $20 if you need a wreath form. If you need a form, please email Alice MacLachlan (alice maclachman@gmail.com( or Melisa Leland (melisa.m.leyland@gmail.com in advance.

All Ages Christmas Crafts - Saturday Nov. 19 4:00 - 7:00

Make beautiful Christmas cards to share with your friends and family this holiday season. We will offer samples to get your creative ideas flowing. Craft supplies will be provided but feel free to bring any you have at home. Other crafts are welcome too! Bring your knitting, needlepoint or whittling, In addition to getting crafty together a meal of chilli and fresh bread will be available (as well as vegetarian options). This is an all-ages event. You don’t have to have children to attend, just be a child at heart! Cost: This is a free event..small donations to cover costs are welcome and encouraged.

Watershed Walk- Saturday Nov. 26: 10:30 am

Join Father Eric and others as we walk the Garrison Creek watershed from Queen to Bloor. On our way we’ll highlight some of the ways nature is expressed in our community, pray for our stewardship of this watershed, and have lots of chances to chat informally. The walk will end in time for you to get to SMM for the wreath making event at 1:00.

Meet outside the White Squirrel Coffee Shop at 807 Queen St. West (south side, just east of Strachan). To help us predict numbers, you can register here.

The Church in the World - Tuesday November 15 at 7:30 EST

Join us for an online exploration of former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams in a discussion entirled A Christ shaped Presence led by our Priest in Charge Eric Beresford. Fr Eric brings a unique perspective on Rowan Williams as a friend and colleage working with him in the Anglican Communion Office. Expect to hear about the challenging questions Williams raaises about the role of the church as it addresses a wide range of issues including politics, care for creation and spirituality. The session is coming on Zoom and you can sign in from anywhere for access here.

Music of Paradise-Sat. Nov. 5: 7:30 pm

A program of glorious music, including Tomas Luis de Victoria's stunning Requiem and works by Healey Willan, known as the Dean of Canadian Composers, and our longest serving choir director and organist - and Stephanie Martin - a more recent former one with ever emerging new compositions. You will hear also a work of Sir William Harris, and more, all under the direction of Music Director Robert Dixon. Pay what you can at the door. All proceeds go to support the life and work of the parish.
