Organ Recital "in progress" - "Siciliano for a high cermoney" (Herbert Howells)

Andrew's online organ recital “in progress” continues!

Siciliano for a high ceremony by Herbert Howells, played by Andrew Adair on the Salisbury Cathedral Hauptwerk sample set by Milan Digital Audio.

Herbert Howells’s (1892-1983) Siciliano for a high ceremony was written in 1953 for the Countess of Dalkeith’s marriage at St. Giles’s Cathedral in Edinburgh. One of his last organ works, the piece features a lilting rhythm similar to that of a Scottish folk tune.
